Is it possible to hold a 5K run during a pandemic? If you take your event virtual, how does it work and what tips should you know? If you have to cancel or postpone, what's the messaging?

Running events happen every weekend in Minnesota - even now.  Find out how these experts have taken the lead and survived trying to outrun COVID-19.  Bring your questions! 




Panelists:

Mary Anderson is the President of Anderson Race Management has been  a part of MN running since 1988.  She established Anderson Race Management 24 years ago. They provided event management, timing, promotional and rental services for nearly 200 events throughout the Midwest each year.

Morgan Jappe, co-founder of the Brewery Running Series. Established in 2012, this Minnesota based, national brand organizes fun run events at local breweries. Morgan serves as the Event Director for the 40+ annual Minnesota events, as well as the CMO for the national brand (300+ events planned across 16 US states in 2020). Be active. Have fun. Give back!

Alicia Wiesneth is the Senior Events Manager at Make-A-Wish Minnesota and has been with the organization for 2.5 years.  She is responsible for their major fundraising events including their annual Walk For Wishes and Wish Ball gala.  She has been working the events industry for over 10 years and has experience in all types of non profits.

Sam Worms is the Events Manager with Star Tribune. He is responsible for the coordination of all owned and partnered events including Top Workplaces, The All-Metro Sports Awards, and The Father’s Day Ugly-Tie 5k. He has worked in the events industry for last 8 years in areas ranging from hospitality to live-event production.  

Brittany Williams has worked with City of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation for nine years. She is the Harriet Island Wedding and Private Event Coordinator. and has worked with large running events in St. Paul Parks.
